RIP CORONADO, Calif SUCH bravery I had to post this in respect of a true soldier

CORONADO, Calif. - A Navy SEAL sacrificed his life to save his comrades by throwing himself on top of a grenade Iraqi insurgents tossed into their sniper hideout, fellow members of the elite force said.

Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael A. Monsoor had been near the only door to the rooftop structure Sept. 29 when the grenade hit him in the chest and bounced to the floor, said four SEALs who spoke to The Associated Press this week on condition of anonymity because their work requires their identities to remain secret.

“He never took his eye off the grenade, his only movement was down toward it,” said a 28-year-old lieutenant who sustained shrapnel wounds to both legs that day. “He undoubtedly saved mine and the other SEALs’ lives, and we owe him.”

Very sad, I have suck respect for this soldier.

rest in peace mate.

MY DOG NAMED SEX SOOOOOOO FUNNY

Everybody I know who has a dog usually calls him "Rover" or "Spot". I call mine Sex. Now, Sex has been very embarrassing to me. When I went to the City Hall to renew the dog's license, I told the clerk that I would like a license for Sex. He said, "I would like to have one too!" Then I said, "But she is a dog!" He said he didn't care what she looked like. I said, "You don't understand. ... I have had Sex since I was nine years old." He replied, "You must have been quite a strong boy." When I decided to get married, I told the minister that I would like to have Sex at the wedding. He told me to wait until after the wedding was over. I said, "But Sex has played a big part in my life and my whole world revolves around Sex." He said he didn't want to hear about my personal life and would not marry us in his church. I told him everyone would enjoy having Sex at the wedding. The next day we were married at the Justice of the Peace. My family was barred from the church from then on.

When my wife and I went on our honeymoon, I took the dog with me. When we checked into the motel, I told the clerk that I wanted a room for me and my wife and a special room for Sex. He said that every room in the motel is a place for sex. I said, "You don't understand. ... Sex keeps me awake at night." The clerk said, "Me too!"

One day I entered Sex in a contest. But before the competition began, the dog ran away. Another contestant asked me why I was just looking around. I told him that I was going to have Sex in the contest. He said that I should have sold my own tickets. "You don't understand," I said, "I hoped to have Sex on TV." He called me a show off.

When my wife and I separated, we went to court to fight for custody of the dog. I said, "Your Honor, I had Sex before I was married but Sex left me after I was married." The Judge said, "Same here!"

Last night Sex ran off again. I spent hours looking all over for her. A cop came over and asked me what I was doing in the alley at 4 o'clock in the morning. I said, "I'm looking for Sex." -- My case comes up next Thursday.

Well now I've been thrown in jail, been divorced and had more damn troubles with that dog than I ever foresaw. Why just the other day when I went for my first session with the psychiatrist, she asked me, "What seems to be the trouble?" I replied, "Sex has been my best friend all my life but now it has left me for ever. I can't live any longer being so lonely." and the doctor said, "Look mister, you should understand that sex isn't a man's best friend so go get yourself a dog."

Skyline test drive goes wrong when the sales man tries to drift lols

My mate took these pics up from his house, it happened along New South Head Road and William Street in Double Bay. This guy in an R32 GTR was showing a potential customer how the car handled, he went like 140km and tried to drift it through a detour lane from William St going onto New South Head Rd, he clipped the kerb and the car rolled and smashed a bit of the wall of some council place. Both drivers are in hospital but nothing critical.

2008 Nissan Skyline!!

The enthusiast world has been waiting for the next Nissan Skyline for some time now, particularly American enthusiasts, who are set to get their first factory-sanctioned taste of the performance legend when it makes it into US showrooms for the first time.

Looking very close to the sensational GTR-Proto concept shown back in 2005 at the Tokyo Motor Show, the 2008 Skyline appears to be in its final stages of development, as evidenced by these KGP Photography shots of the car caught testing at the Nürburgring.

While all previous Skylines were sedan-derived, the new model will reportedly gain its own two-door architecture, which bodes well for the car from a performance standpoint.

Prevailing rumors have the car taking on a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-6, itself derived from the engine in the 350Z. Power bogeys put the mill in the range of 450 horsepower and 370 pound-feet of twist. In true Skyline fashion, the car will be all-wheel-drive, with a further evolution of the GT-R’s electronic ATTESA ET-S torque-sensing system, tied into a four-wheel steering system.

All of which should be good for a 0-60 miles-per-hour time of well under 4 seconds, and a top speed somewhere on the ambitious end of 180 mph.

Interested parties might want to start inquiring with their local Nissan dealers now.

YOUTUBE SOLD TO GOOGLE FOR 1.65 billion

9.40am Tuesday October 10, 2006

SAN FRANCISCO - Web search leader Google today said it has agreed to acquire top video entertainment site YouTube for US$1.65 billion, putting a lofty new value on consumer-generated media sites.

The deal, the first to value one of the new crop of user-participation websites at more than $1 billion, combines two of the most popular internet brands: Google, synonymous with Web search and rapid innovation, and YouTube, a Silicon Valley upstart that has spearheaded the video-sharing craze.

In anticipation of the acquisition, investors pushed shares of Google up $8.50, or 2 per cent, on Nasdaq on Monday to a closing price of $429.00 -- a level not seen since late April. In extended-hours trade following the announcement of the deal, Google stock dipped to $427.63.

The stock had already gained about 2 per cent on Friday, when reports emerged that a Google-YouTube deal was in the works. In the last two trading days, Google has added nearly $4 billion in market capitalization -- or more than twice what the company has agreed to pay YouTube.

For Google, the acquisition of YouTube would thrust the Web search leader quickly into the emerging market for video advertising, where it has only a tiny foothold compared with Yahoo Inc. and various Web start-ups, analysts said.

YouTube's explosive growth -- it now serves 100 million videos per day -- has been buoyed by the uploading and viewing of untold amounts of pirated video clips.

It has grown rapidly to dwarf Google's own Google Video.

Earlier this morning (NZ time), the Universal Music Group said it will offer thousands of its music videos to the millions of users of YouTube, ending a public feud over the protection of artists' rights.

YouTube's deal with Universal was similar to an earlier deal with the Warner Music Group , in which the label will offer thousands of its videos to YouTube users as well as make songs available to be used in the site's homemade videos.

Media companies that have signed deals with YouTube have also cited a new filtering technology the company is developing that lets rights owners eliminate pirated videos found on YouTube, or have the service begin selling targeted advertising around the clip.

Within 30 minutes, other deals came pouring in: Google announced separate music video deals with Warner Music and Sony BMG. YouTube announced another music video deal, this time with Sony BMG, and a separate short-form video deal with US television network CBS Corp. .

A top Google executive said the acquisition was part of a broader strategy to invest in the emerging online video market.

Google Chief Executive Eric Schmidt told investors and news reporters on a conference call following news of the deal that YouTube will be "one of many investments" Google plans to make in the video field.

Schmidt said that Google will run YouTube as an independent company but also preserve its own Google Video as a separate operation. He described YouTube as the "clear winner in networking and the social side of video" for the way the site encourages its users to share videos with their friends.

"We were very impressed and thats what led us to begin conversations with YouTube," Schmidt said.
