In round 2 of qualifying last night, Phil Read ran the quickest past in Aussie history and the first ".5" in Australia with a 4.571 @ 329 miles per hour.
Then the visiting Yank Kalitta, behind the wheel of the local Rapisarda car, went an unbelievable 4.51 @ 332 mph!!
Before this everyone was talking about the possibility of a .5 being finally run in Australia over the next few weeks. After last night people are talking of a possible ".4" being run as soon as today!!
